Someone looking after your site after launch
Website maintenance
An outdated phone number, a form that stops delivering enquiries or an update that changes your layout can have real consequences. We look after the technical side and keep your website useful to customers.
What this solves
We begin by documenting your website and hosting. Who manages the domain? Which software and external services are involved? Where do forms deliver enquiries? Access and responsibilities are agreed before we take over. You do not automatically need a replacement website.
Maintenance means controlled changes. We agree how updates are tested, how a previous version can be restored and which backups are needed. A static company website needs a different approach from a site with customer accounts or a database.
Everyday content changes also matter: a new service, opening hours or a replacement photograph. The proposal specifies included changes and how larger work is quoted. Response times and availability are agreed in advance; maintenance does not automatically include a 24-hour help desk.
Technical maintenance and SEO have different purposes. Maintenance keeps the website working and up to date. New content, keyword research and organic growth need a separate plan. Both can be combined while remaining clear in the proposal.

Questions before you start
Can you take over another developer's website?
We first assess the technology, access and documentation. You then receive a proposal. Outstanding maintenance may need to be addressed before the takeover.
What if an update goes wrong?
We agree a testing and recovery procedure in advance. The appropriate release or backup depends on the site and any data visitors may have entered since the change.
Are new pages and SEO included?
Only if they are part of the agreement. Small edits, technical support and ongoing content development are specified separately.
Clear scope before you commit
A practical starting point
First we review the existing site, hosting and available access. Repairs needed before handover are quoted separately.
What the proposal covers
We agree which checks, updates and support are included in ongoing maintenance, including frequency and response times.
What happens next
New pages, redesigns and larger features are not automatically included in maintenance. You receive a proposal first.
Before you decide
What should a website maintenance agreement cover?
Define website maintenance through updates, checks, backups, changes and availability. Make responsibility for each part of the website explicit.
